My personal method is to stealth kill every enemy I possibly can and then use Trap Mine to finish off the lone Shambler. This means you’ll want to be extra cautious when skulking around an abandoned store or base. Unlike the Clickers, Shamblers aren’t blind and can spot you. The only way out is to defeat the enemy, or escaping the mission altogether – unfortunately, penalty for this is high and the party receives a high stress level.
The battle is unique in that there is nowhere to escape from him – if you decide to retreat during the battle, your next encounter will be with Shambler. Gives you a trinket from the Ancestor set. I don’t remember what he does, he isn’t very hard. It snuffs out your torch and spawns the Shambler, he is kind of a boss/mini-boss. The Shambler is easily more dangerous than most bosses, meaning it’s usually better to avoid fighting it.
